Apillo is an empathetic comfort device that assists hospital staff in providing
quality care to vulnerable and isolated patients. The wearable pillow, along
with the storage & heating device, are designed to fit seamlessly into hospital infrastructure. Apillo helps patients to receive comfort and care in otherwise high-stress situations.

ABOUT ME

My name is John Christie and I am a product designer from Limerick, Ireland. I have long considered myself a creative person, but it wasn't until I started studying Product Design in the University of Limerick that I found my true passion for design.

Throughout my four years here, I have learned a lot about the design industry, but nothing as important as the value of empathetic design. For me, empathetic design should be at the core of every design decision.

I always try and keep the user at the front of my mind for every design decision. Nothing is more fulfilling than using my design skills to make a positive impact in someone’s life.
